The Shoudy Hotel, William Enders Store and the Central House built in 1892 after the big fire of 1891. All were removed in 1964 to widen main street (rt 395). The buildings in this photo look to be abandoned. Courtesy of Howard Ohlhous – Duanesburg Historian.

The Methodist Church

On September 2nd 1876 under the leadership of Rev. Peter West, David Bolles was contracted to build the Methodist Church for $23,000 on land given by Hicks Sheldon. The church was finished in 1877 and was dedicated on March 1, 1877 with Rev. G.W. Browne as the first minister.
